Stanway Pegasus Women represent the senior women’s section of Stanway Pegasus FC, a rapidly growing, community-focused football club based in Colchester, Essex. The women’s side was first introduced in 2021, and due to strong demand and development, a Reserves Team was added in 2023.

We proudly operate two ambitious squads within our women’s programme:

• First Team – Competing in the Eastern Region Women’s Football League Division One South (Tier 6 of the women's football pyramid)

• Reserves Team – Playing in Essex County Women’s League Division Two
   

Our ethos is rooted in development, positivity, and ambition. We’re committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment that offers a clear pathway for female players of all abilities to progress, grow, and most importantly, enjoy their football.
 

Training for both squads takes place on Wednesday evenings at Stanway School, under the guidance of a passionate and experienced coaching team:

• Sophie Thorpe, appointed First Team Manager in 2025, brings drive and determination, focused on getting the best out of her squad and pushing the team to the next level. Assisted by highly experienced coach Rosi Webb.

• Stacey Desborough, named Reserves Manager in 2025, is dedicated to fostering a strong, united group with a clear focus on player development and progression.
